a camera obscura installed in the 3rd floor skylight @ Elsewhere

Our interactions with the environment are increasingly moderated. Filtered through cameras and screens our ability to "travel" has been expanded but our ability to truly observe has been muffled. This project, contemplates that mediation. The most simple and direct technology for translating an image is used to create a space for observation, meditation, and transformation. The camera obscura projects the clouds above onto the floor below; an inversion of coordinates. This disorientation, and the slow meandering of clouds hopefully evokes a sense of serenity, patience, and awe.
